Exploring Faith: A Journey from Doubt to Divine Empowerment
Show Notes Transcript Chapter Markers

Being called to preach in a small church in Quero wasn't on my bucket list, yet it was a call I couldn't ignore. Despite feeling inadequate, I discovered that like biblical heroes Gideon and David, I too was chosen for greatness. Join us on this journey as we delve into the world of faith, exploring how aligning with God's will can turn the least into the greatest, and turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Ever felt like you're facing an army of problems, each more daunting than the last? You're not alone. Drawing inspiration from Gideon and the Israelites' daring encounter with the Midianite army, we discuss how faith in God can help us overcome fears and obstacles. We'll show you how to tap into the source of God's power, remove all barriers and let His power flow in your life.

We wrap up our conversation by exploring the dynamic duo of prayer and praise. We'll guide you on how to shatter your vessels of fear and doubt, rejoice, and bask in God's glory. Join us as we lead a prayer for healing and deliverance. As we transition into a spirited conversation from a church revival, we stress the importance of unity and getting ready for Jesus's arrival. We end the episode with a powerful reminder to align with God's vision, or else risk being left behind. Come, let's explore faith, prayer, and preparation together, and discover how to face challenges with God by our side.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 2:

Praise the Lord, let's not tarry too long. If you have your Bibles this morning, please go with me to the second Corinthians, the 10th chapter.

Speaker 1:

We miss our pastor this morning.

Speaker 2:

But we know God's a healing miracle within Jesus. It's just unusual for us to be in Quero on Saturday morning. So when I got the call, yesterday, or the text yesterday morning about six o'clock 5.45, that he would need me and Sister Cassandra to come to Quero. I was not ready. Amen. But how many of the Bible says to be instant in season and not a season, amen.

Speaker 1:

We must be ready at all times to give an account for this good name of Jesus for this salvation that we hold within us, that it will spring up into a good report.

Speaker 2:

Amen, second Corinthians I don't believe in tarry and I believe in redeeming the time. So it is 1130. So we'll see what goes on. Amen, if God doesn't move, I'm not one to try to force it that God ain't in. Amen. He who are led by the spirit to them are the sons of God. Second Corinthians, 10 and 12. For we dare not make ourselves of the number or compare ourselves with some that come in themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves amongst themselves, are not wise.

Speaker 2:

But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God had distributed unto us a measure to reach even unto you, for we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reach not unto you, for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ Somebody say preaching the gospel of.

Speaker 2:

Christ, not boasting of things without our measure, that is, of other men's labors. But have hope. With your, faith is increased that we shall be enlarged by you according to our rule, abundantly To preach the gospel in the range beyond you and not to boast in another man's land of things made ready to our hands. But he that gloryeth, let him glory in the Lord. May we bow our heads just for a brief couple moments. Jesus, I come before you as an humble servant. I need your help. This morning, god, I believe you gave me an encouraging word for this church this morning. God, the body needs encourage Jesus. The body needs lifted up Jesus, not with pride, but with your anointing and humbleness. It only comes from you.

Speaker 2:

I know this little nobody right here and I'll give you praise. But the church say man.

Speaker 1:

I heard brother Kendrick as he was talking about the brothers that God has healed and blessed them. I can't help to thank.

Speaker 2:

God for myself this morning that just a little over six months ago, amen, I had two emergency open heart surgeries and I shouldn't be here. But God, not that we boast or anything in ourselves, but God, we can go and we can read over in the book of Judges and the sixth chapter, and how Gideon he wasn't a very, very popular man and he wasn't a very strong man. But the age of the Lord, come to him and say give me the mighty man and valor and get him and said, who me? I'm a coward.

Speaker 1:

I'm threshing weed because I don't want the million eyes to come and steal what little food that we have left.

Speaker 2:

But when the Lord gives you an instruction, when the Lord has placed his hand upon you. When the Lord has give you a message, he will make the provision for you, no matter how big it is or no matter how small it is. It ain't about you, it ain't about me, it's about what the Santa Spirit of God this morning? Gideon. I've laid my hands upon you, and now I want you to go gathering army Gideon, so we don't have to do army.

Speaker 2:

He said but I laid my hands on you, gideon. Gideon said I'm the least in my father's house. How many of you this morning and don't look at nobody else, keep it to but how many of you feel the least in the father's house this morning?

Speaker 1:

I know almost all the others that Pastor Trevor could have called.

Speaker 2:

I still feel like I'm the least in the father's house this morning, but I remember a David who was also the least in his father's house.

Speaker 1:

And how the giant came to find the armies of God and how David said I'm ready.

Speaker 2:

I'm just a little bit redheaded boy. I'm not very big, but see, it's not what you have, but it's what God can use you for when you give him the glory and when you give him the honor, you can tell the mountain bout and beat us removed. And if you have that faith of the mustard seed, it has to be done. It's not about the mustard seed, you know the mustard seed, but the main thing that I love about that verse about the mustard seed, the mustard seed is a plant that won't join itself to anything else but a mustard seed.

Speaker 2:

We try to join our Christianity, our faith and everything else, but if we don't join our faith with the faith of Jesus and the faith of the saints. He said pray for the faith that was once delivered to the saints, because once you get yourself in line and in tune with the will of God, there's no force in this world that can defeat the body of Christ. Get in, go, get you an army. Now, the Israelites were not army people. They didn't have swords, they didn't have shields, but one thing they had for them is they had God on their side.

Speaker 2:

He said so get in an army, so get in together 32,000 Israelites that day and they gather to go against the Midianite army and the Lord said get in, there's too many in this army. So I want you to tell every one of the men that are fearful and afraid. Go on home To. God don't employ cowards God don't employ scary cats Because in the armor of the army. There's no back armor for you to run away and they can't shoot you. There's too many Gideon.

Speaker 1:

So tell every one of those that are afraid go on home.

Speaker 2:

I can't use them. So Gideon went and he ended the army 20,000 of the 32 left in. Gideon there's only 12,000 left Now we think that 32,000. Seems like a big number, but the Midianite army had 135,000 men. So, 35,000 men with small beans according to looking at 32,000.

Speaker 1:

But see I like the way that God thinks.

Speaker 2:

God says you add and multiply and I'll do the subtracting. I don't think you got what.

Speaker 1:

I just said.

Speaker 2:

I said you do the multiplication and the adding and I will do the subtracting. It's not our place to judge. It's not our place to throw out the ones that don't look like we, but it's our job to keep planting the word and keep saving souls and keep reaching out for the back slider. You may not look like much of yourself, but there's a mighty move of God down his side of your bones. Jeremiah said I won't speak in that name again. I won't talk about that name, but there's something.

Speaker 2:

There's a fire inside my bones that just won't let me shut up and stand still. God's looking for people that are quit being the belliacan about everything that the pastor says and the board says and just say I'm going to trust in Jesus, I'm going to move when he moves and when this state's pretense of it, it's going to live even well, my fruit will be multiplied. My house will be multiplied, my grounds will be multiplied, because we are more than conquerors.

Speaker 1:

I told her. She told him I'm high. I feel good this morning An enemy says quit, that means you're doing just about good enough to keep on it over.

Speaker 2:

We come back about a month and a half ago from New Mexico from the renovation to those two days to get there.

Speaker 1:

Service was supposed to start till Sunday night.

Speaker 2:

Pastor Brigade calls me. We were probably two hours from the house. He said would you do me a favor? He said I know you wasn't supposed to preach the tomorrow night, but will you come and minister tonight? I said, if you ask your man to go over here? So we got out of the truck, had enough time to run to the restroom. We didn't get time to wash up, wash our face. We got a heart of our truck to the restroom back into his truck and hour 45 minute drive back to Gallup for this service.

Speaker 2:

But when God sees how small that you say that you are, he'll take you by the hand and he'll lead you. David says yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For why? For thou are with me. They comfort me. I like what David said.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, though I won't be able to walk through the valley. Hello grandma, hey you, I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

Speaker 2:

I will fear the evil. Why? Not because of who I am, but the one that created death and, yes, and the one that created evil. He'll say part on his right and part on his left, because they've got a work for God to do. And little as they may be, they can be mighty men of valor and they can stand like idiot and say we don't have much, but we'll go and defend your name.

Speaker 1:

We'll go and defend the cause because you're with us.

Speaker 2:

It don't matter how many stand against you when you have a visitation from God himself and he spoke to you the words it don't matter if your church has the same vision, if the organization has the same vision. Honey, all I know is I've got to get on this board and have the same vision of Jesus, and if we would get on the vision of our past that God gave him, we'd see this body blue, we see this body flourish and we see life and life everlasting Come back into our body again.

Speaker 2:

It's not all about hearing the voice of God, but it's about getting in tune with his perfect will. Lord, there's only 12,000 of us left and the Lord started doing math again. Okay, gideon, there's still too many of you, and I could just imagine Gideon thinking they have 135,000 men and we've got 12,000 left, and the Lord said send them down to the brook. How many of you got to get to the brook, the brook where the life is at?

Speaker 1:

Not in no stagnant pop.

Speaker 2:

God is tired of us being stagnant and in the same shape. It's a shame when our elders are in the same shape that they were, it's a day they got filled with the Holy. Ghost. They never progressed but they got stagnant in the move of God. At least we have a lot of beavers.

Speaker 1:

Not had a beaver.

Speaker 2:

Get in my pond one day for the kindred and he built himself a beautiful home and a beautiful clear pond that had bass in it beginning to get dirty and lily pads started growing in my pond and skull and pond stuff on the top began to gather and all this algae began to gather. I couldn't look down and spend my little pond no more and see my beautiful fish and one day the.

Speaker 1:

Lord said you know how to do that.

Speaker 2:

He said, if you want life to come back in you have to take out everything that's damned up the living water source, the flowing water. We've let the enemy damn ourselves up with unbelief and fear and doubt, amen, and disobedience and dishornness, to where we've stopped the living flow of God. But you may be one person, but so is that beaver, and if you'll put your back into it.

Speaker 1:

God will do the rest.

Speaker 2:

You've got to start pulling out these stops and put it, live back into it. I don't have the strength, but, god, I'm mighty. Through you and through your Lord, we're mighty through the pulling down of strongholds. Well, glory. I'm tired of going to church and just seeing the same thing over and over again. Jesus said and greater things she shall do with death was you know what the? Greatest thing is. You know what the greatest?

Speaker 1:

death revival is it's reviving the dead in us. It's ours coming back to the anointing of.

Speaker 2:

God and get it joined back up to the water source and get it joined back up to the power. I didn't imagine I was going to say all of this this morning. There's only 12,000, but by my calculations you still got too many. Yeah, you've multiplied and you've added but if you go into this harmony with that many men they're going to throw you out.

Speaker 2:

They're going to think they did it of themselves. When God starts to move in our homes, in our families, in our churches, in our ministries, most, most I can't say many God, but most people will get the big head thing. Look what I did. I've suffered in prayer, I've suffered in my body, but it ain't about you, honey, it ain't about how much you suffer, it ain't how much you're not you, for it has. Jesus did the work, and except God, built the house, the laborers, in vain.

Speaker 2:

Get in. I want you to send them down to the brook and I want you to tell them to drink water. We come to church.

Speaker 1:

Look at it, come on.

Speaker 2:

Make our shirts look like we're all put together Our shirts pressed just right, and a crease in our pants that we didn't put in it and we think we've got everything just lined up just so perfect. But you know who God's looking for. He said get in. I want you to set aside Every one of the men that get on their hands and knees and they'll take their tongue and they'll lap water like a dog.

Speaker 1:

I'm looking for a person that's able to make themselves look bad and look no good.

Speaker 2:

And I look good and I'll get the glory.

Speaker 1:

We must become back on God and to the will of God, even if it makes us look despicable to man.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes I guess I can be theatrical. But, here they are.

Speaker 1:

And they're lapping that water like everybody's seen a dog lap water.

Speaker 2:

But you know one thing that dog don't do he don't take his eyes off of his surroundings.

Speaker 1:

He's always ready to defend what is his.

Speaker 2:

And we have led the Satan come in and put blinders on us that we can't see the enemy because he's a mile away or if he's standing in front of our face. It's time to have the body of Christ get the deserted experience again and say we shall stand and defend. If we lose our line, I'll lose my life. That I may gain it. Thank God they gained them over. Thank God they gained them over Gideon. Now, how many has left? I'm lured by my calculations. There's only 300. Now again, now that's the right number. There ain't 100 of us in here today, but this is the right number. This is the one that's been called to the front line of duty. Why Not?

Speaker 1:

because we've been treated our stuff to become anything, but we have the vision of God in our eyes and we have heaven in our views.

Speaker 2:

Hell may be hot on our trail, but we have heaven in our views. And when you get one glimpse, of the world to come.

Speaker 1:

It'll change your life, It'll set you free and it'll give you something worth fighting for this morning.

Speaker 2:

Now get in. If you do what I structured you to do. We want to do things our own way all the time. Well, I don't think that's the way I used to.

Speaker 1:

I don't care if it's how you did it, how mama did it, how daddy did it, how grandpa did it. If it's not the way Jesus did it, it's all the wrong we want to do our own thing.

Speaker 2:

You know, the Bible said that he calls pastors after his own heart. He don't call pastors out of us.

Speaker 2:

He calls them out of the necessity of the men that they are. Get in. You tell your men to go get clay pots and that doesn't sound like that's much of a weapon. You got these guys coming with swords, you got coming with shields, you got these men coming with slingshots and spears and you're telling me to tell my men to go get clay pots and to go get tambourines. Are you serious, lord? A Gideon was just ignorant enough to obey what the saint, the Lord, that's what God's looking for.

Speaker 2:

God's looking for some people that's ignorant enough and excuse me, I'm just a hillbilly and I say it again God's looking for some people who's just ignorant enough to do exactly what he says he said to do. Scripture said not many noble, not many kings, not many rulers will inherit this great kingdom of heaven. But I do wear the scripture where Jesus said the poor you have would be wop-a-ways. And you may be poor in spirit today, but let the spirit of the Lord set you up. You are more than conquerors. This morning I mean, my wife was on her way from San Antonio last night we begin to have a conversation. I'm going through some things. They're doing a lot of thinking, but no more than I can think I want to have the mind of Christ.

Speaker 1:

And as that hospital jacked me up my flesh sometimes gets really unwound. But the Lord spoke to me this morning.

Speaker 2:

And I have to give you this message today If you will hold your peace, God will fight your battles. God is a defender of his own. We don't have to defend ourselves, but God himself.

Speaker 1:

Jesus Christ, the righteous, will stand up and defend your case this morning.

Speaker 2:

I don't care what it is, he'll defend you of his sickness. If it's death, if it's finances, if it's your home, he will defend you. Hallelujah, hallelujah, heavenly. Okay, Lord, I've done what you've said. Now I'm just going to believe. He said I'll go hide here. Could Midianites start coming down and the Israelites stand to your feet? I'm done, hallelujah. I said I believe in redeeming the time. Yes, hallelujah. Here, the Midianites is coming down the mountain. Yeah, and the Israelites hiding in bushes. Sometimes God's got to have some bush hiders.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm over Some bushwhackers, and here comes 135,000 against 300. And they begin to break them clay pots and shake them tamarines and begin to praise God this morning If you'll break your pie. The Bible said we have these traders in earth and vessels that should actually use some of the power it's not a mess, but it's of God, if you let your vessel be broken and you give him praise, he will break forward.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, somebody praise the Lord. This morning I said if you'll break your vessel and you give him, praise the Spirit of God will break forward. Hallelujah.

Speaker 2:

I don't care what the situation is, if it's death, if it's court, it's the law. If you'll let your vessel be broken and you give him the highest praise, he will give you the highest victory. Hallelujah, thank you, jesus, hallelujah. Somebody say hallelujah, hallelujah, god. If you'll let us break forward, he will send his power.

Speaker 1:

I don't care what situation it is, hallelujah See when the book said if you had to face the greater the mustard seed, you'd tell the mountain to be removed.

Speaker 2:

We know the mustard seed is very small. It's the smallest seed in all of man, the smallest of all the plants. But we know that that mountain isn't the Rock. He said where I grew up, in the Appalachian Mountains or the Blue Bridge Mountains or any of the other mountains in the world. The mountains in your life are marriage problems, it's divorce, it's sickness, it's financial problems, it's church decision, it's all these things. But if we'll give it to the Lord and let our cells be broken, he will break forward. The Bible said and the Proverbs said oh, you which are buried, break forth into singing. You which have not had children.

Speaker 2:

I'm not talking about in the flesh, but I'm talking about in the spirit. He gave the rejoice over the birth of some new souls in this church. I tell them, I tell them, I tell them, I tell them, I tell them, I tell them, I tell them Do not report that this morning. This morning, you will get the glory, You'll get the praise. You will see oh, Victor, you have no andere here before. You don't know where your Irenes are, you don't know where your Irenes are, you don't know where your Todd pokemon is. He'll get the praise and you know what you'll have. You'll see all victory in Jesus, my Savior forever. I don't know how to close this out. Hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

I expect you all to just fold your hands and sit down on me this morning.

Speaker 2:

I ain't gonna lie, but God's having his way in here, yes, yes, because when God sends a man or sends a woman, he won't, he won't give himself the glory.

Speaker 1:

He has to give God the glory. I just believe that where you're standing at right now and you need a miracle.

Speaker 2:

Or anybody in your home needs a miracle.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, oh Jesus, I'm just saying enough to believe you can get a stand at right where you're born. Hallelujah.

Speaker 2:

Yes, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. You don't need another hands like on you, you need Jesus to light his hands on you. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. I told them that in New Mexico and we get used to having prayer line and nobody leaves any different than when they walked in after 30 years of going through the same prayer line.

Speaker 1:

But I want you to grab the hand of the person standing next to you right now.

Speaker 2:

I had a prayer class right here that I didn't even know was in my pocket till this morning I put these pants on and thought, well, I know that's not a lot of money because I don't have that kind of money. I reached in there.

Speaker 1:

this is prayer class that I had in New Mexico. They've been to the dry clears and everything. You can still smell the oil.

Speaker 2:

I told them up there. I said we've been into just so going through the motions so much. We were ready for a prayer line after prayer line after prayer line and nobody's getting healed, nobody's getting delivered, but we go through the motions, that's what we're used to. I said, well, we ain't having a prayer line tonight. You all is going to pray for yourselves.

Speaker 1:

See the.

Speaker 2:

Bible said one can put a thousand to flight Now sometimes I think we may think that this is just a bunch of stories. May believe fairy tales, but if one can put a thousand to flight, then two can put ten thousand to flight, and if three, if two can put ten thousand, then three can put twenty thousand.

Speaker 1:

And I know there's got twenty thousand people in here this morning but we can tear down every stronghold into Wake County.

Speaker 2:

We can bring down every stronghold in the city of Cuero. This morning I want you to reach out right now and begin to pray. One for another. God, I ask you to move right now. I bind every sickness and depressive spirit that comes against this body, that comes against these believers and I command that the power of God, the miracle work and power of God gets inside of them and begins to wake them up and shake them up. And as you shake us up, shake up Cuero shake up our homes, shake up the Wake County God.

Speaker 2:

I believe it right now.

Speaker 1:

You said, if we ask and believe that you would do this thing, god.

Speaker 2:

I'm looking for another man ministry. I'm looking for Jesus ministry. Send your power. Send your power, jesus. Oh, I can feel somebody breaking forth this morning.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, hallelujah. Do you believe? I don't hear a bunch of believers.

Speaker 2:

I said do you believe? If that can't strongly believe, all things are possible. Hallelujah, in the name of Jesus, we break every curse.

Speaker 1:

I said we break every curse in the name of Jesus, we break every dominion.

Speaker 2:

In the name of Jesus, every spirit that's worn against our pastor in our church, we break it. In the name of Jesus, we send the angels of God. We just send out the deliverers to this body. One verse we send all out the deliverer of the devil and소리. Jesus, do the work. Jesus, you are the miracle worker Break us Jesus. Break us Jesus. You're trying to break some of us Jesus.

Speaker 1:

You're trying to break some of our spirits.

Speaker 2:

God, you're trying to break some of our, our damnable doctors. That's been built inside of us breaking us, set us free by your power. Oh yeah. Not by words, thank you. Not by power, oh yeah, but by the spirit sample. Oh yes, we need the power. Jesus Syndicate. Thank you, oh God. Maybe I pray?

Speaker 1:

delivers for myself.

Speaker 2:

Jesus, I can heal his body right now. Satan, right now.

Speaker 1:

Let him go. God stand up and defeat your not.

Speaker 2:

That's right. That's right. You believe it this morning. You believe it this morning. Give him praise this morning. Give him praise. Prayer plus praise equals power. We did the prayer. Now we can do some praising, and the power has got to come. Hallelujah, I feel some thanks changing in this church house right now. I feel some spirits changing in this church. God's sitting in this revival.

Speaker 2:

Hey, if you don't want it, give it to me. If you don't want it, get out of my way, because I'm going to run you over for the power of the blessing that's waiting, just beyond what he says.

Speaker 1:

Well done my good and faithful servant. Yeah, yeah, good job.

Speaker 2:

I appreciate it, Grandma. I feel like I fly away right now. I feel so much of the power of God. Brother, can you, if I could jump out of my skin and go to heaven, I'd be gone right now, but just a little longer, and we'll see Jesus coming in the clouds of glory, and he's coming after us. Who's made ourselves ready? Are you making preparations today? Hallelujah, hallelujah, are you making preparations? Woo, I feel the Holy Ghost.

Speaker 1:

And if you can't feel this, you just ain't got nothing to feel. The Holy Ghost with. All right, come on.

Speaker 2:

Hallelujah Holy. We used to sing a song as kids. Deep in wine, deep in wine, there's a fountain flowing deep in wine and there's a fountain, still today that's flowing through the crown of Calvary, and it's as deep as you want to get and it's as wide as you want it to be. You just got to walk on in. Oh, hallelujah, well glory.

Speaker 1:

I don't know how to stop this.

Speaker 2:

I don't know how to stop this. You don't. When we look beyond these eyes right here, I see a new family in the back view. You don't see that yet, but I think I do.

Speaker 2:

And I see a family that used to come in the next view, and I see your children and your family going to be in the next view and then it's time that we get a visit, return back to the body of Christ, because until we do, we'll not have more than this gathering right here. God's trying to do something in us and if you're a hindrance, you'll move the stop on block.

Speaker 2:

Hello somebody, if you don't get on board with what God's trying to do at New Testament Holiness Church. The train will leave without you, Leave you standing in the station and I can't be left behind. I've been in this way too long. I've been striving for 30 years to make heaven my home. I've been striving for 25 years to see my children saved and I'm not going to let my disvisions and my ideas hinder for me from getting on board with the vision of God.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah.

Speaker 2:

Get on board or get left behind.

Speaker 1:

And I talk about no rapture.

Speaker 2:

I'm talking about the catching away in you. We need rapture, we need a catching away of our own selves, and let God do this thing. I'm grateful for the honor to stand instead of my pastor, pastor Calvin Trevor Brooks. Give him a hand clap this morning.
